香港的家庭主婦懂得煲湯的沒有不識 入地老鼠土茯苓湯，他被視為清熱解毒，袪熱滲濕，利尿瀉熱，潤肺活血的要藥。

但他的另一個中文別名: 紫茉莉在園藝界别上更有名。適合蔭蔽，濕潤，溫暖環境生長，土壤以肥沃，深厚的夾沙土為好，種子繁殖。可供觀賞栽培園藝植物。
